Thomas E. Bat, M.D.Thomas Bat, MD serves as the CEO and Medical Director of North Atlanta Primary Care, PC. As the founder of the practice over 28 years ago Dr. Bat is proud of his ongoing service to our community and its patients. NAPC has grown to 10 locations in Alpharetta, Braselton, Cumming, East Cobb, Johns Creek, Marietta, Sandy Springs, Sugar Hill, West Paces, and Woodstock offering the most comprehensive primary care in our medical community. NAPC currently has 3 additional offices in development in Canton, Midtown, and Lawrenceville.

He has been recognized as America’s Top Doctor by numerous organizations including Who’s Who of American Physicians. In addition NAPC has been nationally recognized by HIMSS for its use of IT with the Nathan Davies award, by NCQA for being the first multi-site private primary care Patient Centered Medical Home, and by MGMA for Superior Performance. In addition, Dr. Bat was on the founding boards for the development of both Emory's and Tenet Healthcare's CIN. Currently he serves on the board of the GPAC, the largest ACO organization in Georgia.

Dr. Bat is originally from Jackson MS where he received his undergraduate degree from the University of MS and his medical degree from the University Medical Center and post graduate training at the University of Tennessee where he served as chief resident at St. Francis Hospital overseeing 18 residents in an 800 bed hospital affiliated with the UT health system.

Dr. Bat’s medical interests center on treating the whole family with special emphasis on comprehensive care and management of chronic medical conditions. Being an early adopter of electronic clinical records he has been at the forefront of population health for many years. He is recognized by Novartis for his work on hypertensive and cardiovascular diseases and by Pfizer for his treatment of tobacco abuse and smoking cessation programs.

His personal goals and interest include the evolving use of IT to improve medical care, working as a board member with organized medicine at the AMA, MAG and MAA to create a stronger healthcare system that is  both physician led and patient centric. By working effectively with both our state leaders and national leaders in Congress we can influence legislation that improves and strengthens the profession of medicine and the health of our patients. There is no greater satisfaction in life then promoting our profession to make our healthcare system continue as the best in the world for the benefit of our patients.

In his spare time you can find Dr. Bat enjoying the water somewhere off the coast, fishing, diving or snorkeling. He also attends conferences across the US that focuses on the continuous improvement that future technology can bring to our profession and the healthcare system.
