Thomas Bat, MD serves as the CEO of North Atlanta Primary Care, PC. As the founder of the practice over 25 years ago Dr. Bat is proud of his ongoing service to our community and its patients. NAPC has grown to 9 locations in Alpharetta, Braselton, Cumming, East Cobb, Johns Creek, Sandy Springs, Sugar Hill, West Paces, and Woodstock offering the most comprehensive primary care in our medical community.

Roderick Rusyniak Joined North Atlanta Primary Care over 2 decades ago bringing a wealth of revenue cycle management experience as the company was converting to a completely paperless process. He was extensively involved as it transitioned into scanned document management, EMRs, use of patient portals for both clinical and non-clinical use, laboratory interfaces and development of internet based clearinghouses that brought efficiencies to the back office operations. He worked closely with both consultants and CPAs to develop processes for management of inventory control, staff operations, HR and payables leading to the highest achievement of being the first primary care practice in the US to be awarded the Nathan Davies Award for use of IT in an outpatient healthcare setting.

Rising to his current level of CFO, Mr. Rusyniak is a senior healthcare executive regularly attending medical conferences at MGMA, HIMSS, and Allscripts Executive council meetings. He consults regularly with other medical practices to bring his experience in practice management, revenue cycle management, payer negotiations, and implementation of IT systems. Over the last 2 decades he has played a crucial role in assisting IT companies to develop better products for the healthcare industry. Navicure has recognized his work in making NAPC the most efficient back office operation in their network.

As NAPC has grown to eight campuses with four more under development Mr. Rusyniak continues to play a vital role over seeing multiple aspects of its continued growth and ability to deliver healthcare to a larger community.  Prior to joining NAPC Mr. Rusyniak was the Southeast Director for a national collections and healthcare billing firm that specialized in both outpatient care as well as home health care and infusion therapies He has a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Marketing from Syracuse University.

Bob joined North Atlanta Primary Care in 2009. He has over 30 years of leadership experience. After graduating from Indiana University in 1972 with his BS degree, he decided take on a position as an educator at Greenwood High School in Greenwood, Indiana. He coached basketball for 6 years. During his tenure at Greenwood, Bob obtained his MS from Indiana University.

Bob left coaching to pursue a career in pharmaceutical sales and management in Sarasota, Florida with Beecham Labs. He was 31 years with the same company which took him through 2 mergers with Smithkline, and finally GlaxoSmithKline. At GSK, Bob had years of outstanding accomplishments in both sales and management with GSK. Ultimately, these accomplishments landed him a place on the Wall of Fame. His experience over this 31 year period included management experience in Field Sales as a District Sales Manager and Hospital Sales as a Regional Vice President. He also had short stents in Oncology and Marketing.

After retiring from a successful career with GSK in 2009, Bob joined the successful North Atlanta Primary Care team as their Chief Operating Officer. In his 6 years with NAPC, he has helped North Atlanta Primary Care grow into one of the largest independent Primary Care groups in Georgia. They have grown from 4 locations with 26 providers to 9 locations with 41 providers. Bob and his wife Cindi have two lovely daughters and a grandson. They have resided in Roswell Georgia since Bob moved to Atlanta with GSK in 1985.

  

Chuck Bollinger, North Atlanta Primary Care HR

Chuck Bollinger joined North Atlanta Primary Care in March of 2015 as the Director of Human Resources. In this role, Mr. Bollinger is responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the Human Resources function. 

Chuck brings more than 20 years of experience in a variety Human Resources positions prior to joining North Atlanta Primary Care. During the span of his career at UPS, he advanced from a part-time role on the warehouse floor to his last role as UPS Procurement Services Human Resources Director. In addition, Mr. Bollinger has over 5 years of experience as Director of Operations in the contingent workforce environment where he was responsible for a variety of Managed Services Programs.

Chuck earned his bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management from Cabrini College in Philadelphia, PA.

 

Karen Wallace, North Atlanta Primary Care Director of Clinical Operations

Karen Wallace, RN joined North Atlanta Primary Care in 2017 as Director of Clinical Operations. Karen brings over 25 years of ambulatory management experience. She initially began her career as a Medical Surgical Nurse at the Medical College of Virginia before finding her passion in ambulatory care.

Karen brings a diversity of experience that includes ambulatory practice management, consulting, LEAN methodology, and service excellence management. Her ambulatory management experience began with Johns Hopkins ambulatory practices and she later began to provide consulting services for a medical services organizations’ ambulatory division. Recently, Karen served as Clinical Manager with the University of Maryland Midtown Campus. Here she was responsible for primary care, specialty care, community, and women’s health. Karen also was a LEAN facilitator for ambulatory rapid improvement events and was the Service Excellence Manager and was responsible for customer service initiatives for the organization during her tenure. She is a Registered Nurse and has a BS in Health Administration.

Karen has just relocated from Baltimore, Maryland and is an avid NFL football fan. She has a daughter and is looking forward to the warmer weather and working with the NAPC community and staff.

 

Michael Waller, North Atlanta Primary Care IT Director

Michael Waller joined North Atlanta Primary Care in April, 2016 as IT Director. Michael has over 25 years of IT experience. His responsibilities include overseeing the Information technology strategies, developing and implementing the policies, procedures and goals. He is also responsible for the technical investments for new information systems or upgrades to hardware and software components.

Michael brings a wealth of knowledge from his past experiences prior to joining NAPC. Michael was the Senior System Analyst for Kaiser Permanente for 14 years. He was responsible for providing leadership and training to all new and junior analyst supporting over 100 various applications for over 200,000 users. Other duties included, providing in depth reporting to executives and upper level management of findings during high and critical outages.  Prior to Kaiser, He served as the IT Manager/LAN Administrator at International Banking Technologies for 4 years. Mr. Waller’s responsibilities included providing operational support for LAN/WAN systems. He developed, documented, and coordinated contingency and security planning for the company.
Michael enlisted into the U.S Army at an early age and served his country for 10 years as a Pershing Missile Electronic/Mechanical Repairman. His demonstration and superior degree of technical expertise were instrumental in the performance of Pershing II Missile System. His accomplishments as Commander of the Relief for the Pershing II Operational Testing and the SALT II Treaty Inspection Team earned him several awards and accommodations. Staff Sergeant, Michael Waller ended his military career in 1992 with an Honorable Discharge. 
Michael graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems from Saint Leo University in May 2009. Since then, he has obtained numerous certifications and professional training. He continues to strive for personal development and professional growth.
