Thomas Bat, MD is the founding physician of North Atlanta Primary Care, PC three decades ago in metro Atlanta. Currently as Medical Director and CEO he has grown NAPC to 11 offices in 5 counties surrounding the Atlanta metro area. NAPC is recognized for its length of service to the communities it serves, the high quality of care it delivers and the numerous awards and recognition it has received over the years. His personal accomplishments have led to NAPC recognition as a Superior Performer by MGMA, Nathan Davies award for use of Healthcare IT in 2005, Who’s Who of American Physicians, and as the first multi-site primary care NCQA PCMH in Georgia. In addition NAPC has been recognized by Novartis for his work on hypertensive and cardiovascular diseases and by Pfizer for treatment of tobacco abuse and smoking cessation.

Rod Rusyniak, North Atlanta Primary Care CFO

Roderick Rusyniak joined North Atlanta Primary Care over 2 decades ago bringing a wealth of revenue cycle management experience as the company was converting to a completely paperless process. He was extensively involved as it transitioned into scanned document management, EMRs, use of patient portals for both clinical and non-clinical use, laboratory interfaces and development of internet based clearinghouses that brought efficiencies to the back office operations. He worked closely with both consultants and CPAs to develop processes for management of inventory control, staff operations, HR and payables leading to the highest achievement of being the first primary care practice in the US to be awarded the Nathan Davies Award for use of IT in an outpatient healthcare setting.

Rising to his current level of CFO, Mr. Rusyniak is a senior healthcare executive regularly attending medical conferences at MGMA, HIMSS, and Allscripts Executive council meetings. He consults regularly with other medical practices to bring his experience in practice management, revenue cycle management, payer negotiations, and implementation of IT systems. Over the last 2 decades he has played a crucial role in assisting IT companies to develop better products for the healthcare industry. Navicure has recognized his work in making NAPC the most efficient back office operation in their network.

As NAPC has grown to eleven campuses with more under development Mr. Rusyniak continues to play a vital role over seeing multiple aspects of its continued growth and ability to deliver healthcare to a larger community.

Prior to joining NAPC Mr. Rusyniak was the Southeast Director for a national collections and healthcare billing firm that specialized in both outpatient care as well as home health care and infusion therapies He has a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Marketing from Syracuse University.

In Mr. Rusyniak’s spare time he enjoys cycling, running, gardening, and traveling. He enjoys fundraising for CHRIS 180, formally known as CHRIS Kids, whose mission is to heal children, strengthen families, and build community. Mr. Rusyniak also loves to participate in philanthropic events.

Bob Nichols, North Atlanta Primary Care COO
Bob Nicholls,

Bob joined North Atlanta Primary Care in 2009. He has over 30 years of leadership experience. After graduating from Indiana University in 1972 with his BS degree, he decided take on a position as an educator at Greenwood High School in Greenwood, Indiana. He coached basketball for 6 years. During his tenure at Greenwood, Bob obtained his MS from Indiana University.

Bob left coaching to pursue a career in pharmaceutical sales and management in Sarasota, Florida with Beecham Labs. He was 31 years with the same company which took him through 2 mergers with Smithkline, and finally GlaxoSmithKline. At GSK, Bob had years of outstanding accomplishments in both sales and management with GSK. Ultimately, these accomplishments landed him a place on the Wall of Fame. His experience over this 31 year period included management experience in Field Sales as a District Sales Manager and Hospital Sales as a Regional Vice President. He also had short stints in Oncology and Marketing.

After retiring from a successful career with GSK in 2009, Bob joined the successful North Atlanta Primary Care team as their Chief Operating Officer. In his 6 years with NAPC, he has helped North Atlanta Primary Care grow into one of the largest independent Primary Care groups in Georgia. They have grown from 4 locations with 26 providers to 11 locations with 51 providers. Bob and his wife Cindi have two lovely daughters and a grandson. They have resided in Roswell Georgia since Bob moved to Atlanta with GSK in 1985.

Bob is a huge Atlanta Braves fan. He tries to go to as many games as he can throughout the season. In his spare time he enjoy jogging, boating, and golfing. He also loves coaching his grandson’s youth baseball and basketball teams.

Erna Wilkerson, North Atlanta Primary Care Clinical Director of Operations

Erna Wilkerson joined North Atlanta Primary Care November of 2017 as Director of Clinical Operations. Her previous work experience was Director of Student Health and Counseling Centers at Emory University for 7 years; in 2015 she was promoted to Director of Finance, for the Division of Campus Life, she held that position at Emory University for 2 years. Ms. Wilkerson prior position for 10 years was Medical Facility Administrator with Kaiser Permanente. Ms. Wilkerson studied at Oakland University, where she obtained her BA in Psychology, Central Michigan University her Masters in Health Care Administration (MHA), and Capella University her Master's in Leadership and Administration (M.Ed.), she is currently a student at Capella University expecting to graduate in December 2018 with her PhD in Leadership and Administration.

Her current community involvement includes serving as Assistant Manager for Gwinnett County election polls; she volunteers in a mentoring program, and has a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification. In her spare time Erna enjoys Ballroom dancing, promoting events throughout Georgia that inspire others through music and dance.

Chuck Bollinger, North Atlanta Primary Care HR

Chuck Bollinger joined North Atlanta Primary Care in March of 2015 as the Director of Human Resources. In this role, Mr. Bollinger is responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the Human Resources function.

Chuck brings more than 20 years of experience in a variety Human Resources positions prior to joining North Atlanta Primary Care. During the span of his career at UPS, he advanced from a part-time role on the warehouse floor to his last role as UPS Procurement Services Human Resources Director, in which he was responsible for all HR services; including contingent labor, customer service centers, background check & drug screening services, recruiting process outsourcing (RPO), and vendor management. In addition, Mr. Bollinger has over 5 years of experience as Director of Operations in the contingent workforce environment where he was responsible for a variety of Managed Services Programs on the West Coast.

Chuck earned his bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management from Cabrini College in Philadelphia, PA.

Chuck resides in Roswell with his two daughters. In his spare time he enjoys water sports, and traveling. He used to volunteer NASCAR races in Atlanta and Talladega where he provided security, led pit tours, garage tours, and did other various tasks. Chuck is also a scuba diving instructor emeritus.

Michael Waller, North Atlanta Primary Care IT Director

Michael Waller joined North Atlanta Primary Care in April, 2016 as IT Director. Michael has over 25 years of IT experience. His responsibilities include overseeing the Information technology strategies, developing and implementing the policies, procedures and goals. He is also responsible for the technical investments for new information systems or upgrades to hardware and software components.

Michael brings a wealth of knowledge from his past experiences prior to joining NAPC. Michael was the Senior System Analyst for Kaiser Permanente for 14 years. He was responsible for providing leadership and training to all new and junior analyst supporting over 100 various applications for over 200,000 users. Other duties included, providing in depth reporting to executives and upper level management of findings during high and critical outages.  Prior to Kaiser, He served as the IT Manager/LAN Administrator at International Banking Technologies for 4 years. Mr. Waller’s responsibilities included providing operational support for LAN/WAN systems. He developed, documented, and coordinated contingency and security planning for the company.

Michael enlisted into the U.S Army at an early age and served his country for 10 years as a Pershing Missile Electronic/Mechanical Repairman. His demonstration and superior degree of technical expertise were instrumental in the performance of Pershing II Missile System. His accomplishments as Commander of the Relief for the Pershing II Operational Testing and the SALT II Treaty Inspection Team earned him several awards and accommodations. Staff Sergeant, Michael Waller ended his military career in 1992 with an Honorable Discharge.

Michael graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems from Saint Leo University in May 2009. Since then, he has obtained numerous certifications and professional training. He continues to strive for personal development and professional growth.

In Michael's spare time he enjoys golfing, bike riding, and attending Atlanta Braves baseball games and Falcons football games with his wife.
