North Atlanta Primary Care

NAPC Clinical Communication #4

North Atlanta Primary Care is committed to providing quality care to all patients. Within the last few weeks, we have introduced a new Coronavirus testing process. As mentioned in our previous Clinical Communication, we have an extremely limited supply of rapid COVID-19 tests. However, this has been a tremendous help to the proper care and treatment to all our patients. As presented by the CDC and Georgia Department of Public Health, the number of positive COVID-19 cases is increasing significantly in the metro Atlanta area and surrounding cities. We have also seen an increase in positive cases within our communities. We are proud to say that our COVID-19 care plans and follow-ups have helped our patients recover faster. North Atlanta Primary Care continues to be the gold standard in COVID-19 care.

To continue providing top-quality care we have made a few changes to our operations to help patients receive the medical attention they need. Starting 7/16/2020 we will no longer be COVID-19 testing during the walk-in clinic (7:30 a.m. -8:30 a.m. Monday-Friday) at any of our locations. Furthermore, we will no longer provide COVID testing during the Saturday walk-in clinic. If you have any questions or concerns regarding COVID-19 and your health, please call us to schedule a virtual visit with a provider. This will allow us to guide you to the care that you need in a safe way for yourself, other patients, and our staff. At North Atlanta Primary Care we are here to provide care to those who need it. By scheduling a virtual appointment with your provider, we will better assess your needs and allow us to maximize the appropriate utilization of testing for all our patients. We are here for you during this Pandemic, but we are NOT a testing center. We evaluate and treat patients as needed. This can be done by scheduling an appointment with your provider.

Other options to obtain COVID-19 testing can be found at Fortunately, testing has expanded during the pandemic and there are options other than waiting in your car for a test at the testing center. There are currently 5 companies that are providing at-home COVID-19 test kits.

Pixel by LabCorp (nasal swab) – obtain a test kit after taking a short survey. The test kit is then mailed out to you. Once you collect the sample, it must be shipped back that same day. Patients will receive an email once the results are ready.

EverlyWell (nasal swab) – At-home tests are shipped to you with instructions to send samples back to the lab. The lab will process results in 24 to 48 hours, and you will be emailed when results are ready.

Vault (saliva sample) – After describing risk factors and symptoms online, a test will be sent to you via overnight delivery. When the kit arrives, you must be connected with an online telehealth provider who will guide the saliva sample collection. You then send the sample back via overnight shipping, and the test result will be available 48 to 72 hours after the sample arrives at the lab.

Vitagene (Saliva sample) – After you complete a questionnaire, a test will be sent via express mail. You must collect the sample according to instructions and return the sample via express mail. Results will be available within 72 hours of the lab receiving the sample.

hims & hers (saliva sample) – After you complete a questionnaire, a test will be sent to you via overnight shipping. You must collect samples according to the instructions and return the sample. Results will be available within 3 to 5 days of the lab receiving the sample.

As we learn more about the testing process there will be other testing options as well. You may want to reach out to your insurance carrier to see if they provide COVID-19 testing options.

The rising number of COVID-19 cases shows us that we need to be more vigilant with our health. We all must continue to social distance when in public, wear a mask when outside of your household, and practice good hand hygiene. For your safety, North Atlanta Primary Care requires everyone to have their temperature taken at the door and requires masks to be worn at all times while in the clinic. Please follow updates sent out by the CDC and Georgia Department of Public Health so you know how to keep you and your loved ones safe and healthy. As always, North Atlanta Primary Care is here to serve our communities. Please do not hesitate to reach out regarding any questions or concerns about your health.
