Rita Nagawa is a Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C) and sees patients at our Sandy Springs location.
Rita was born and raised in Kampala, Uganda. She completed her undergraduate education at Armstrong State University, a Georgia Southern University satellite campus located in Savannah, GA. Rita graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Medicine, summa cum laude. She completed the physician assistant studies program at Mercer University and earned a Master of Medical Science and Master of Public Health.
Rita’s medical interests include hematology-oncology, preventative medicine, and promoting and protecting people’s wellbeing and their communities through public health. Rita is an active member of the American Association of Physician Assistants (AAPA), the Georgia Association of Physician Assistants (GAPA), and the Pi Alpha National Honor Society for Physician Assistants.
Rita has a particular interest in nuclear medicine. She is accredited by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (MNTCB) as a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT). She belongs to the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI).
Rita is a self-proclaimed “grilled cheese enthusiast and lover of poetry,” and her hobbies include photography and interior design. She also enjoys running and spending quality time with her family.
